Relationships have always shaped my life. From an early age, I noticed how the quality of our connections, at home, in childhood, in family, can help us flourish or leave lasting pain. Over time, I saw how patterns from the past show up in parenting, in partnerships, and in daily life. That’s why I became a therapist.
Most people come to therapy with one thing in common: they feel stuck. As a parent, you might feel like you’re constantly reacting instead of responding. You might sense that old wounds are getting in the way of the parent you want to be. Or perhaps your child is struggling with anxiety, behaviour, friendships, or school, and you’re not sure how to help. If you’re an adult carrying the weight of a difficult past, you might feel like those old experiences still run the show.
Whatever brings you here, you’re not alone. I am deeply trauma-informed. I see your struggles as adaptations, not flaws. I’m real, not formal or distant. I can sit with you in your pain and share moments of lightness and laughter. Both have a place in good therapy.
I work with children, teens, parents, and adults in Vancouver and across BC. My approach is warm, experiential, and relational. I believe healing happens in relationship, and that safety is something we build together over time rather than something I assume is already there. That’s why I focus on creating brave spaces where you can show up as you are, move at your own pace, and feel genuinely met rather than managed. I draw on EMDR, DBT skills, Circle of Security Parenting, Theraplay, play therapy, and Parts Work, tailoring everything to your unique needs and goals. For children, sessions are play-based and creative. For parents, I focus on helping you reconnect with your own wisdom and respond with more clarity and calm.
I’m also deeply passionate about working with adults who grew up in hard circumstances. Many of my clients have tried therapy before and are still living with the impacts of what they went through. Here’s what I’ve learned: trauma doesn’t live in the part of us that uses words. It lives in our bodies. That’s why talking about it isn’t always enough.
As an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, I use EMDR and body-based approaches to help you process what’s been stuck and put the past back where it belongs. I’m especially drawn to supporting parents who grew up in difficult circumstances. Parenting can bring up old patterns in unexpected ways. Through inner child healing and parts work, many parents find they can show up differently: calmer with their children, kinder to themselves, and more connected in all their relationships.
The moments I treasure most are when a parent discovers something they didn’t know they were capable of, or when a child walks into a session smiling. Those moments remind me why I do this work.
If you’re curious about whether therapy might help, I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation. We can talk about what’s bringing you here and whether we might be a good fit.
